It’s hard to believe that this shoot is about 2 years old – time really does fly! I have zero excuses as to why I haven’t posted it sooner, but I did sit down many times to start, only to get sidetracked. Nevertheless, here we are finally sharing these beautiful images.
This family has been a cherished client for many years, and I’ve had the pleasure of photographing them at least 10 times. In fact, the baby in that belly I got to photograph his birth, and I’ll be sharing those images in the next few weeks – stay tuned!
Tonight, as I prepare for another maternity shoot (the images with the water) in the same location, it has me revisiting these photos once again. It’s amazing how revisiting past work can spark new inspiration and reflection.
I recently participated in a month-long class calledNow, Now with Rachel Larson Weaver and Yan Palmer where each week focused on a different element. Now, now (see what I did there? LOL), I find myself noticing how many elements are represented in these images.
The earth element, with its energy of stability and groundedness, is palpable in these photos.
The water element is an energy of flow and flexibility.
The fire element is an energy of vitality and passion.
The air (or wind) element is an energy of movement and change.
Obviously some of them have overlapping themes but it was fun to try to place them in one of the categories.
thanks for looking! xo, Taryn
